The children have learnt about conductors and insulators. Conductors are materials that allow electricity to flow through and insulators are materials that do not allow electricity to pass through.
Did you know that electricity can flow through a potato?!
We started off by looking at the components we needed to build an electrical circuit. We found out that all the components need to be connected to allow the power from the battery to flow through the wires to the light bulb.
When we added a second light bulb, the bulbs were dimmer. The children worked in small groups to discuss why the bulbs were dimmer. Their theory was that the energy from the battery was being shared between the two bulbs, so they were each getting half; it is like sharing a pizza you get a smaller amount.
This half term we have been thinking about travel. The children looked at the design of airline logos and thought about how they came up with the designs. The children then designed their own logos for their own airline!
We have been really lucky to have Ms Tyers from the Hunts Sports Partnership come in to team teach with Mrs Attewell. WE have learnt lots of new netball skills. We know how to chest pass, shoulder pass, swivel and we have started to learn how to defend.
Just a few photos from our trip to Ely Cathedral. We had a fabulous day finding out about Etheldreda from whom the cathedral was built by. We had a candle lit walk around the cathedral and did some brass rubbings.
We were very lucky to have the permission of the head Verger to put the Christmas tree lights on too!
Well done Monet super behavior and manners.
Welcome to Monet Class!
This half term our topic has been 'Temples, tombs and treasures'
We have found out about Ancient Egypt.
We look forward to seeing you all at our topic sharing afternoon!
