Hello Hockney,
This half term we will be looking at 'People of the Past'. History is one big story, filled with important people who did many great things - scientists, rulers, artists, writers, explorers. By learning about these people and what they did, we can find out more about the qualities that make someone great.
I am providing you with the schedule and planning we are going to be using at school this week so that you can follow along as if you were there with us. :) Happy Learning!

Phonics
The creators of RWI are offering daily online lessons for children to continue their phonics learning at home. Each set of sounds has its own time slot and the video will only be available for 24 hours.
Set 1 sounds = 9:30 am
Set 2 sounds = 10:00 am
Set 3 sounds = 10:30 am

Children should practice these number facts once a day. It is a quick but effective way for children to build number fluency.

Guided Reading
Topic - People from the past
To kick off your topic see if you and your family can come up with lots of important peoples names get these written down on strips of paper. See if you can group these important people together for example: musicians, explorers, inventors, rulers, nurses and doctors, artists, scientists etc
Think about the skills and qualities they will need to have.
Do you think they needed to be a good listener?
Do you think they needed to be brave?
Do you think they needed to be a good communicator?
Do you think they needed to be good with numbers?
